Steven Spartinos believes the deal shows the growth of virtual sports

Kiron Interactive has expanded its retail offering after the announcement of a deal to provide its virtual sports games to more than 8,000 betting terminals owned by Best Gaming Technology (BGT).

Kiron titles, such as ‘Fantastic League’ and its horse racing games, will now be available on thousands of the machines in a number of markets across Europe, including Scandinavia, Eastern Europe, Italy, the Netherlands and Spain.

Kiron co-chief executive Steven Spartinos said he was “delighted” by the deal with BGT, which is a leading supplier of self-service betting terminals (SSBTs) and currently has over 22,000 machines with some of the world’s biggest brands, including Ladbrokes, William Hill, Coral and Codere.

“I’m delighted that BGT have chosen to offer our games to their retail customers; it’s a great endorsement of our ability to tailor products to a range of operators and markets,” Spartinos said. “It also reflects the growing popularity of virtual games around the world; they are the perfect cross-over product between sportsbook and casino.”

BGT announced earlier this year that Ladbrokes had signed a new contract for the provision of more than 2,000 extra SSBTs, meaning that there is at least one terminal in every one of their shops in the UK.

William Weir, the company’s corporate development director, said that the Kiron deal highlighted BGT’s commitment to growing markets and gaming innovation.

Weir added: “The adoption rates of our SSBTs in recently-regulated markets are very satisfying and virtual games are proving to be an excellent product for newcomers and old hands alike.”
