This past weekend, German gaming giant, Gauselmann Group, marked its 60th anniversary during three days of celebrations across its hometown of Lübbecke.

The company was founded by Paul Gauselmann in 1957 and has since grown to become one of the European land-based gambling industry’s best-recognised companies.

Gauselmann operates the well-known gaming venue chain, Casino Merkur-Spielothek, and develops gambling equipment and related products through its Merkur Gaming brand.

On September 8-10, several thousand guests visited the huge tented village adjacent to Gauselmann’s production facility in Lübbecke, northern Germany, for weekend filled with food, music and festivities.

Guests included representatives from the worlds of politics and business, the gaming machine industry, clients, family and close friends.

On Friday evening, Paul Gauselmann was joined by long-standing associates in the 6,000sq.m marquee.

“In 2017, for the first time, the company generated more sales abroad without losing sight of the domestic market,” he said. “We are the market leader in Germany and will remain so.”

Totally Gaming says: During the celebrations, Paul Gauselmann recalled his unique, 60-year history with the company, which began with a crossed bill of exchange for DM100,000 and 17 jukeboxes. Today, the company is a global player in the gaming machine industry, with more than 12,000 employees and revenues of €2.5 billion in 2016.
