Gauselmann Group’s acquisition of software company Betcom Limited will help to enhance the German land-based gaming machine manufacturer’s presence in Great Britain, public relations editor Mareike Kording has told

Although the terms of the deal were not disclosed, Gauselmann has described the agreement as an “important” step in its British expansion strategy.

Based near the city of Birmingham, Betcom has considerable experience in the game development and design market, having marketed various games for reel-based and multi-game machines.

Speaking to about the deal, Kording said that Betcom’s experience in Great Britian would boost Gauselmann’s operations in the market.

“The partnership with Betcom is a further important step for the Gauselmann Group expansion in the British market,” Kording told

“Betcom's track record in the development of Category C games is second to none and adding their creative skills to our content portfolio will strengthen the market development of Gauselmann product in the key Category C sectors within both pub, AGC and bingo markets.”

In addition to Gauselmann’s own operations, Kording said that the deal would also provide support to Blueprint Gaming, another of Gauselmann’s UK subsidiaries.

“Blueprint Gaming, a further British subsidiary of the Gauselmann Group, will in particular benefit from the Betcom development capacities,” Kording said.

“Alongside the increase in development capacities, this acquisition of Betcom Limited mainly offers important new synergy effects and expansion possibilities with the knowhow that is already available at Blueprint Gaming.”

Alastair Harris, managing director at Betcom, added: “This is a great chance for Betcom to advance its own expansion and develop new market potential.

“I believe that this partnership will in future offer enormous growth opportunities for the company.”
