Racecourse Media Group (RMG) is to continue its successful partnership with Meydan Group, after announcing a new two year worldwide production and distribution contract.

This new agreement encompasses the full horse racing seasons at Meydan Racecourse, including the $10,870,000 Dubai World Cup Carnival which begins on January 11, The World Cup preparation day which offers $1.8m across seven thoroughbred races and the world’s richest race day, the nine race card Dubai World Cup which offers total purses of $30m.

Richard FitzGerald, CEO of RMG, said: “We are delighted that we once again can partner with Meydan and work together in successfully showcasing this world-class racing.”

Seb Vance, director of PR and communications at RMG and Racing UK, added to "This is a significant partnership for RMG as the horse racing at Meydan is recognised as among the very best in the world, with the prestigious Dubai World Cup Carnival attracting horses from more than a dozen countries in 2017.

"The Carnival starts in January and culminates with the Dubai World Cup on the last Saturday of March with more than US$40m on offer for those 11 fixtures.

“RMG, in partnership with Meydan, made the 2017 Dubai World Cup fixture available to over one billion homes in more than 150 territories. NBC, Eurosport (UK), Super Sport (South Africa), DSPORT (India) and Sina (China) were among the broadcasters which carried the event. We look forward to showcasing the racing to a similarly significant and global audience this season.”

The new deal builds on a previous similar deal from Dubai’s flagship racecourse, with a number of broadcast rights packages from the Dubai Racing Club hosted 20 fixture season, which runs from November 9 to March 31, to be offered this time around.

Totally Gaming says: The Dubai horse racing season is undoubtedly a key aspect of the worldwide calendar, featuring some high profile and extremely lucrative highlights. The previous deal between these parties took the events to new levels, and it will be hoped it’s worldwide popularity can be heightened further still following this new two year agreement.
