Thanos Panousis, chief commercial officer of Vermantia, has told of his desire for the digital media company to pursue growth on a global scale after it recently entered into its seventh partnership in Italy.

Vermantia confirmed last week that it had struck a deal for Eurobet, the Italian-facing online betting subsidiary of Gala Coral, to launch its Virtual Games Service in the country. Eurobet will distribute the virtual games to its retail network, as well as through its online and mobile services.

Eurobet, which becomes the seventh Italian operator to launch the virtual games, will initially offer football, greyhounds and horseracing. Future releases are likely to include virtual cycling, motor racing and table tennis.

Speaking to about the deal, Panousis said that Vermantia had significantly evolved its Italian business over the last few years and will now look to expand and grow its operations on a more global scale.

“Vermantia managed to evolve into a mature gaming provider through its significant success in the Italian market and specifically in the virtual gaming space over the last two years,” Panousis said.

“Recent partnerships include and Hub Game and Eurobet. We are now building Vermantia in a truly global scale by offering fully customised products and services depending on our customers’ requirements.

“We have developed and acquired various games and related IP and physical asset and have invested in our team as we broaden our focus of the business from a mainly retail environment to multi-channel distribution.”

Panousis went on to say that Vermantia is currently in discussions with various companies around the world regarding its global growth strategy and that the industry can expect further movement from the digital media firm.

“Italy apart, Vermantia recently expanded in new, promising markets,” Panousis said.

“In Africa – collaborating with Kiron Interactive – we have launched the Virtual Gaming TV, a Pan-African broadcast spanning over the continent. Clients in Nigeria and Uganda are already accepting our service.

“Vermantia is focused on regulated markets with a view to partnering with state-level and market-leading established brands. Our business focus has always been on creating and establishing sustainable, partner-based, growth and we are very well placed to deliver that.

“There are some big deals under process that will be announced soon. Our main goal is to further develop and establish the Vermantia brand globally. In our pursuit of growth, we constantly look for top talent and further development of our existing team.”
