Star-Typ Sport (STS) has signed a new deal with IMG to expand the number of live broadcasts made available through STS TV, one of the bookmaker’s most popular online features.

The new contract with IMG, set to run until the end of 2020, will allow players on STS to stream around 20,000 sporting events through its website and mobile app, while selected streams are also available in stationary STS betting points across Poland. The service, free for all registered users, will include football, handball, volleyball, basketball, tennis and hockey amongst other sports.

Mateusz Juroszek, CEO at STS, told Totally Gaming.com: “We have noticed that streaming through STS TV has become more and more popular. This is the reason why we are still expanding the number of broadcasts in our offer. It is highly important due to live betting and its growing importance among the customers.

“STS TV is one of the bookmaker's most popular features on all online channels. Some of the top matches attract thousands of unique users. STS cooperates with three providers to make our coverage as wide as possible.”

Back in 2013, STS became the first legal bookmaker in Poland to launch live streaming. Despite the fact there are now nine licensed bookmakers in the country, only Fortuna and forBET have subsequently added the service.

Meanwhile STS also holds a contract with the Eleven Sports Network to broadcast Eleven, Eleven Sports and Eleven Extra channels in all of its venues. This provides access to matches in La Liga, Serie A and Ligue 1, as well as Formula One races and the VELUX EHF Handball Champions League.

Totally Gaming says: STS continues to roll out new services for its customers, particularly around live betting. This is despite the challenging environment in Poland, in which unlicensed operators continue to target the market, bypassing a hefty 12% turnover tax for online gambling.
