Spain awards Ladbrokes an eGaming licence

Ladbrokes bookmakers announced that it has been awarded a Spanish eGaming licence. The British bookmaker said it would launch its new website immediately, in accordance with the introduction of the new gaming regulations.

Ladbrokes Chief Executive Richard Glynn commented: "We are pleased to be among the first wave of regulated operators in Spain and an online marketing campaign for the Euros will begin on our first day of operation in line with the regulatory timetable."

Ladbrokes already operates a successful retail Joint Venture in the Madrid and Aragon regions of Spain. The JV, called Sportium, currently has 192 outlets across the two regions with expansion into further regions expected later this year.
