Rewards4Racing members staked over £1bn in 2016

Rewards4Racing recently released its 2017 Annual Report which details the notable growth enjoyed by the business over the past year.

The report highlights the rise in amounts staked with the company’s bookmaker partners; bet365, Betfred and Coral. Rewards4Racing’s membership surpassed the one million mark in 2016, and as a collective it staked over £1 billion during the course of the year. This represents an increase of over 40% on 2015. By the end of 2016 members had acquired over 170,000 tickets to races and this should substantially increase in 2017.

In autumn of this year the ARC’s 16-strong racecourse portfolio will join existing partners Jockey Club Racecourses and York Racecourse. This in turn will bring the total number of racecourse partners participating in the programme to 32. Last year, Rewards4Racing members spent a total of £59 million with racecourse and retail partners specifically; this itself was an increase of over 18% compared with the year prior. The report also noted that Rewards4Racing is now a Feefo Gold Trusted partner which gives it an additional boost in legitimacy.

Rewards4Racing Founder and Director Josh Apiafi told Totally Gaming: “When we started Rewards4Racing one of our aims was to make a real contribution to the racing industry and give back to this amazing sport. We launched the Racing Welfare partnership this year and now every time one of our members shops online with one of our 4,000 retailers, we as a business donate to the charity. Racing Welfare plays a huge part in assisting the lives of people from the racing and breeding community and we’re delighted to be able to support them.

Discussing the company’s growth trajectory over the past few years, Apiafi noted: “Our growth has been fairly impressive over the last six years, with the membership now numbering 1.1 million members. We’re now reaching a point where even casual racegoers understand that being a Rewards4Racing member is a no brainer as they’re picking up free or reduced priced race tickets for their everyday spending or betting activity. “

Another takeaway from the annual report was that the company has formed a new partnership with Racing Welfare, a charity which supports the workforce of British horse racing.  The terms of the deal means that every time a member makes a purchase through the Rewards4Racing website with one of the programme’s 4,000 plus retailers, Rewards4Racing will make a donation to the charity.

Totally Gaming says: Rewards4Racing has evidently enjoyed a strong year of growth and bookmakers and race-ground retailers have in turn benefitted. The addition of the ARC should ensure that this growth in membership, stakes placed and races attended by members increases once again in 2017.
