Profile - expanding the portfolio of SoftSwiss in 2017
Ivan Montik is an entrepreneur in the sphere of information technology, founder of SoftSwiss, pioneer in Bitcoin online casino solutions and strongest supporter of cryptocurrency, currently running a number of successful projects in IT and iGaming. He spoke to TotallyGaming.com about what the year has ahead for the SoftSwiss business.
Totally Gaming: SoftSwiss achieved considerable growth in the past 12 months. To what do you attribute this development?
Ivan Montik: In 2016 SoftSwiss became a trusted partner for 14 top-class casinos and reached number 1 position as a B2B provider on the Eastern European market. In addition to that, the geography of clients was extended: now we serve interests of the operators targeting and operating in Asia and South America.
The company achieved 20x financial growth with only 2x growth of the number of employees. We attribute these impressive results to our advanced technology which has been brought to perfection and our first-class client service. Another success factor is that we concentrate on the online business and rather invest into the development of our platform than into various offline marketing activities. That works best for SoftSwiss.
We are also thankful to our trusted partners who always stand on our side and we progress together. Currently our content partner number 1 is Betsoft Gaming. In close technical collaboration of our teams and with Betsoft support in crucial strategic decisions, we managed to reach millions of euro in revenue from their games. It is a good example of professional and mutually beneficial cooperation.
TG: You've integrated many new third party slots into the platform. Are you looking for more partners?
IM: SoftSwiss is working with 16 game content providers and the number is constantly growing. 2016 was rich on such partnerships. We integrated more than 500 games by world best game content developers. Among the most well-known names are iSoftBet, Evolution Gaming,GameArt, Mr. Slotty, and Booming Games. Since we entered the Asian market, we partnered with Asia Gaming and Habanero to offer targeted content to players from this part of the world.
It is great that all of these games are available not only to online casinos working with SoftSwiss platform, but also as independent game content which can be integrated into any third-party platform via our Aggregator API.
In 2017 we will be launching 2000+ (!) more games by the very distinguished developers in the gaming industry. One of the companies we partner with has a 20-year history in offline casino business and now they are debuting on the online market with SoftSwiss.
TG: You have also started to actively promote SoftSwiss games and offer them separately from your platform. Did they become more popular in 2016?
IM: Absolutely. We realised that SoftSwiss games used together with our platform generate volumes which can be compared to those of the industry leading game content developers, so we decided that we could present our games also as a separate offering. We improved the game design and gameplay and added free spins, so now casino operators can use this bonus feature and grant free spins to selected players to increase their loyalty and motivate for further play. In 2016 we made strong partnerships for the delivery of our games to successful online casinos and think about launching a separate game brand. In fact, our games are the most popular ones among Bitcoin players.
TG: You've added comp points to your casino platform - why are they important to customers?
IM: Our main direction in terms of platform enhancements in 2016 was our Bonus and Retention system. Comp points are an important part of this complex mechanism as they help online casino operators to develop a very effective client retention strategy. Comp points are automatically awarded to players who make bets depending on the amount they wager.
There are two types of those: redeemable and status points. Redeemable points can then be exchanged into real money, bonuses or free spins, whereas status points accumulate and stay on player accounts to define their statuses in the casino. This helps casino administrators fine-tune their bonus offerings depending on player status and achieve maximum engagement.
Tournaments are another great tool to fuel casino users' interest in the game and make them want to compete with each other. We implemented this feature in a unique way in our platform, with various participation criteria and different ways of selecting and awarding winners.
Besides tournaments and comp points, we added loyalty lotteries and advanced player segmentation features (what we here call “dynamic player groups” and “filters”). All of that brings player retention to a whole new level and we already see the results at 30 casinos which use our platform.
TG: What was the contribution of Bitcoin into the success of SoftSwiss in 2016?
IM: The year was very important for Bitcoin as a technology and of course we profited from that. Bitcoin capitalization doubled, the total number of users shot up, and so did the number of online casino players who make bets in cryptocurrency. Since our online casino platform has always been in the vanguard of Bitcoin igaming industry, most of the new players joined online casino brands powered by SoftSwiss. TG: How important will 2017 be to the development of the company?
IM: We will continue to develop our company and our business in several different directions. For improving our legal infrastructure, we plan to obtain UK and Malta gaming license and open an office in Malta and/or UK.
We will continue adding new features to the platform and making our software even more perfect. We will also include new services into the offering: marketing, retention and first line support.
In terms of game content, we will keep working on the integration of games by the world leading developers to increase the pool with 2000+ more varieties. And we will definitely develop more of our own games to promote them under a separate brand.
The last but not the least, we are launching a new corporate website with more eye-catching and user-friendly design and more profound information on the new offerings. It’ll be there for ICE.
