The company also currently has a licence in the UK, Denmark, Bahamas, Malta, Italy, and Romania

Slots developer Pragmatic Play has been granted a licence to distribute its slots games in the Spanish and Portuguese market.

The news comes after both the Spanish Directorate General for the Regulation of Gambling (DGOJ) and the Portuguese Gambling Inspection and Regulation Service (SRIJ) have approved the company’s online games for distribution.

The certification is an expansion of Pragmatic Play’s continued plans for international growth, having gone live in Denmark in August.

Last April, Pragmatic Play was also approved to distribute its games in the UK, something that was seen as a major boost in the company's international expansion.

Yossi Barzely, Head of Business Development at Pragmatic Play, told “Building on our global reach in new regulated markets has been a priority for Pragmatic Play since day one, and approval by the Spanish and Portuguese regulators is an important marker of our continued progress.

“We are delighted to offer our complete portfolio of more than 80 state-of-the-art titles to Spanish and Portuguese players, and are sure that they will prove a hit.”

Totally Gaming says: The latest move by Pragmatic Play marks its continued intention to branch out to new markets, breaking into the Portugese market is a significant step as the market is an extensive one, that Pragmatic's portfolio could thrive in.
