Playtech details major recruitment plans for omni-channel efforts

Playtech has revealed plans to undertake a major recruitment drive in order to support a number of omni-channels projects in the UK and emerging markets around the world.

The gaming software and services company is currently focused on a number of undisclosed global government and non-government omni-channel projects and has confirmed it requires a large number of specialist staff to support these ongoing efforts.

Playtech will now commence a major recruitment effort to add a total of 300 new employees to its current 4,000-strong workforce over the next eight months. The new staff will be assigned to various developer, operational, product, IT and customer support roles.

The new staff will be in addition to those that have already brought in as part of the company’s Playtech ONE omni-channel strategy. Between January 2014 and March 2015, Playtech increased its global headcount by more than 20 per cent.

As part of the wider Playtech ONE growth strategy, the firm will plough further investment into certain areas of the business to support omni-channel initiatives.

The Playtech Sports Division, which has already been reorganised with all omni-channel sports capabilities and technology efforts having been merged into one division, will benefit from various strategic bolt-on acquisitions, the details of which have not been disclosed. Retail will also be strengthened by an under-development in-shop, EPOS management and registration system.

Confirmation of the new recruitment and investment plans comes after the success of Coral Connect, Playtech’s first major omni-channel solution that was launched in partnership with Coral last year.

Since the launch of Coral Connect, that bookmaker has signed more than 200,000 new omni-channel Connect customers in the space of just 12 months.

Mor Weizer, chief executive officer of Playtech, said in a statement that the new investment plan will help deliver the “maximum success” for the firm’s various omni-channel projects and support its wider growth strategy moving forward.

“Playtech’s revolutionary technology enables a seamless, one wallet and one account experience with content available across all channels, online and mobile, and across all devices,” Weizer said.

“The success of Connect has been a game-changer for the industry and for us as a business. It is a technology offering we adopted long before any of our competitors and is the future of betting and gaming.

“Therefore, with a number of significant agreements close to completion, we are currently undergoing a large-scale investment plan in order to deliver the maximum success for these projects.”
