A breakdown of some of the more interesting figures to emerge from the gambling industry in the past seven days.

£26 million - The amount of money paid by Bettson AB for UK interactive gaming operator NetPlay TV. Ulrik Bengtsson, CEO and President of Bettson AB commented: “With the addition of NetPlay and the continued organic growth, UK is on its way to become one of Betsson’s most important markets. Also, this acquisition is a good example of our strategy to acquire subscale operators where integration with Betsson’s systems and processes can realise synergies”.

£200,000 - The target that has been hit by DFS operator Premier Punt in their crowdfunding campaign. The funding was obtained through the Seedrs platform, and has seen the firm give away 6.67% of equity at a valuation of £2.8 million. The company also further announced that the investment round carried out on Seedrs surpassed its initial venture funding target by £20,000.

£175,000 - The winner’s purse for the English Greyhound Derby - the world’s most prestigious greyhound race. A new sponsor has been unveiled for the race - UK independent bookmaker Star Sports. The Derby takes place at Towcester, the UK’s newest greyhound track on Saturday 1st July.

2 - The number of corporate acquisitions undertaken by industry affiliate marketing and player acquisition specialist RakeTech Group this week. Whilst both purchases are for an undisclosed sum, RakeTech has purchased sports betting platform provider BetXpert and affiliate network Turtle Gaming.

£1,500 - The cost to spread-betting firm Sporting Index of each boundary that Brian Lara hit in his 375* back in 1994. The firm celebrated its 25th year in business this week, having traded markets since being founded back in April 1992. Sporting Index is well known for innovative and unique markets; with “Jerry Springer” remembered as one of the best. It predicted the number of German headers during the match.

3 - The season of the Esports Championship Series (“ECS”) that is set to get underway very shortly. It’s a Counter-Strike: Global Offensive tournament and Genius Sports have officially partnered with FACEIT, the gaming platform behind the tournament. It will see the ECS integrate Genius Sports’ data analytics platform in its bid to improve fan engagement and safeguard league integrity.
