Alexander Pettersson, the newly appointed chief financial officer at Cherry, has spoken to about his hopes for maintaining “strong growth” at the online gaming operator.

Pettersson has taken his new role with immediate effect at the Swedish online gaming operator after Fredrik Burvall stood down from the position in December in order to become acting chief executive officer.

Pettersson, who has a background in the gaming industry, has served as chief financial officer at a number of companies. He has also held a strategy and sales position at Betsson.

Speaking about his new role at Cherry, Pettersson said he is aiming to maintain the levels of growth the operator has achieved in recent times.

“My immediate target is to get a good understanding of the business and to build strong relationships with key stakeholders within Cherry,” Pettersson told

“I will also take over all finance tasks from CEO Fredrik Burvall, which will free up his time to drive the group forward.

“Cherry’s main focus is to continue its strong growth and to improve operating margins with the aim of soon showing profitability. This will be achieved by further increasing efficiency across the organisation as well as making use of the synergies from our recent acquisitions.”
