Supplier to cut around 55 staff from Stockholm headquarters

Swedish casino games developer has revealed it expects to make around 55 head office staff redundant as it looks to free up resources to reinvest in game development.

The 55 full-time positions are primarily based at the supplier’s Stockholm headquarters, and the company expects to incur non-recurring costs of around SEK25m as a result of the reorganisation.

“By decentralizing our operations we take another step towards a new NetEnt, where customers and players are in focus,” NetEnt chief executive Therese Hillman explained. “The new organization will have clearer responsibilities and more emphasis on value-creating initiatives.”

NetEnt plans to allocate additional resources to ramping up game production, with Hillman noting that the supplier expects to roll out up to 35 new titles over 2019.
