Buckley becomes supplier's first permanent CEO since June 2017

Gaming platform and services provider Nektan has hired Lucy Buckley as its new chief executive, effective December 3rd.

Buckley joins from Inspired Entertainment, where she has served in a number of roles during eight years with the supplier.

Most recently she has held the role of vice president of Inspired’s interactive division, having helped set up the business unit, and overseen double-digit year-on-year growth in the three years it was under her control.

As a result of Buckley’s appointment, Gary Shaw will cease to serve as interim chief executive, and move to an executive director role.

Nektan’s founder Shaw has served as interim CEO since July last year, following the resignation of the company’s previous full-time chief Leigh Nissim.

“We are delighted that Lucy is joining Nektan when we are seeing considerable growth in the business,” Shaw said of Buckley’s appointment. “Lucy’s extensive international gaming experience is an excellent fit for the role as Nektan’s CEO.

“Lucy will help to build on our most recent successes, as we continue to win new contracts and deliver additional revenue streams,” he continued. “I will remain very much involved in the business both as a shareholder and as an Executive Director. We very much look forward to welcoming Lucy to Nektan at this exciting time for the business.”

Buckley added that she was excited to join the supplier at a pivotal point in its growth.

“Nektan’s player-focused technology and services have been proven in the European casino market, and the company is making significant headway into new B2B revenue streams and additional markets,” she said. “I look forward to working with the team to accelerate the next phase of growth, making Nektan a global leader in online and mobile gaming innovation.”
