Online gaming firms in Gibraltar now have access to some of the industry’s most robust cloud computing and data protection services, thanks to a new partnership between GiBVault and Rockolo.

Established earlier this year, Rockolo is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Gibraltar’s largest telecommunications group, Gibtelecom, providing data centre services to a growing number of online gaming firms based in the territory.

Following a rapid period of growth, Rockolo has now partnered with GiBVault as it looks to expand its offering to include managed IT and cloud services.

Speaking with TotallyGaming.com last week, Rockolo managing director Danny Hook said the partnership brings together the firm’s robust physical security infrastructure with GiBVault’s technical know-how, which is powered by SIRE Technology.

“Rockolo is a PCI-accredited data centre services company,” Hook said. “We have in excess of 400 racks in production, and are planning to develop our new range of managed products and services as quickly as possible.”

As a specialist in tailored cloud solutions, SIRE Technology has been providing its clients with reliable and flexible IT infrastructure since 1993.

Discussing the creation of GiBVault, the company’s Jason Bamford told TotallyGaming.com: “The SIRE Technology team saw an opportunity to take its know-how and expertise and apply it to Gibraltar.

“It is a small territory, but one that is very densely packed from an IT perspective, housing dozens of gaming, insurance and financial services businesses. However, it differs from the UK in that all of these companies are managing their own IT.”

Bamford added: “Having access to a high quality secure cloud computing, storage and back-up services within the territory has been something that many organisations on the rock having been demanding for some time.

“With this partnership, we are now able to satisfy this requirement and are confident that it will enable companies, particularly in the eGaming and finance sectors to not only meet the ever more stringent legislative requirements of their sectors, but also to deliver the highest levels of service and flexibility to their clients.”

Totally Gaming says: Those interested in learning more about the partnership between Rockolo and GiBVault have been welcomed to attend the Cloud Launch seminar, which takes place at Sunborn Gibraltar on September 19. Click here to register.
