Dominik Beier joins as Werner Becher's successor

Malta-based iGaming operator Interwetten has appointed Dominik Beier as its new chief executive.

Beier joins from Sportradar, where he has served as the sports data specialist’s global head of advertising and sponsorship sales since 2016. He will replace Werner Becher, who steps down as Interwetten CEO after seven years.

Beier began his career at Austrian sports news portal LAOLA1, before joining sports management agency Lagardère Sports.

He then returned to LAOLA1, which became part of Sportradar after its parent company, the sportsman media holding, was acquired in 2016. This then saw him take on his most recent role in advertising and sponsorship sales.

“I am very pleased that we have been able to win our absolute preferred candidate and an outstanding management talent for Interwetten,” the operator’s founder and majority shareholder Wolfgang Fabian said of Beier’s appointment.

“I have been following his career for some time with great excitement and I am convinced of his outstanding qualities,” Fabian explained. “He will build on the promising results of recent years and develop a highly successful company with a premium product and high reputation for its extraordinary quality and innovation further, and take important steps towards the strategic reorientation of Interwetten.”

Beier added that he was delighted to take charge of Interwetten.

“The development of the company has been very positive in recent years,” he said. “Due to the strong management team, the quality and dedication of the highly qualified and long-time employees and the unique product, I see Interwetten very well prepared to push the enormous growth potential further within the next few years.

“Today's product offering is one of the best in the world - be it the outstanding content, impressive innovations or award-winning customer service. This will inspire millions of customers. Building on this base, we will continue to grow and continue the extremely positive development."
