Operator to help fund US gambling prevalence study

GVC Holdings has joined the President’s Circle of the National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG), the US body’s highest-level membership. 

President’s Circle members are denoted as such as they agree to become multi-year contributors to the NCPG, supporting its operations, sustainability, future growth and commitment to innovation. GVC joins Las Vegas Sands and MGM Resorts International in the President’s Circle.

The top tier is preceded by Director’s Circle membership, with Mohegan Sun currently the only member, and Executive Level, for which International Game Technology and Caesars Entertainment are current members.

As part of its commitment to supporting the NCPG’s drive to provide the advocacy, awareness and assistance required to promote responsible gambling, GVC is to help fund a major new study into the prevalence of gambling across the US. The survey also looking to identify potential problems that arise as a result of gambling, giving stakeholders in the US gaming industry a clearer idea of the issues, allowing the sector to develop effective treatment and prevention measures.

NCPG executive director Keith Whyte added: “We warmly welcome GVC to the President’s circle.
