It was Better Collective's eighth acquisition of 2017.

Better Collective has delved into the Polish market with its acquisition of online content provider Goal.pl Group, its eighth acquisition of 2017.

The group’s flagship site, Goal.pl, has become one of Poland’s biggest and most trusted sources for European football news. The group also controls wislakrakow.com - the biggest news site for fans of the Polish top-tier outfit.

Better Collective stated that the acquisition will help further its long-term strategy of expanding its presence within European regulated markets.

Michal Kopec, Head of Mergers and Acquisitions at Better Collective, told TotallyGaming.com: “The Polish market currently has seven operators with licenses for online sports betting but it's expected that Superbet, who already received their retail licence, will get one for online very soon too.

"A few more companies are currently in the licensing process but it's unlikely that the Ministry of Finance will give away more than one or two licences before World Cup. For us it's a long-term investment and I believe that within a bit more than a year, the country can double the number of licensed betting operators, making it a really attractive market for both our users and us, as affiliates.

"Poland has a growing economy and interest in their national football team has also risen after performing well in both Euro 2016 and World Cup qualifiers, so it’s is a natural choice for any company doing business in the online sports betting space.

"Better Collective has been present in Poland from almost the beginning of the company. With our expertise in the sports betting affiliation and market insights we get from myself and my other Polish colleagues, it's an obvious choice for further investment and growth. It's an exciting time to invest in Poland and a personally ambitious task to drive such business like Goal.pl group forward.”

Totally Gaming says: It’s been quite a year for Better Collective, with no fewer than eight acquisitions, and no signs of letting up moving into 2018. Whereas many companies pulled out of the Polish market in recent times, Better Collective are looking to capitalise on the region’s growing economy and regulatory progressions - a clear statement of intent.
