Operators join the likes of Svenska Spel, bet365 and ATG in being approved for launch in 2019

Two more operators have been cleared to launch in Sweden’s re-regulated online gaming market from January next year by the country’s gambling regulator Lotteriinspektionen.

Global Gaming, via its SafeEnt Limited subsidiary, has been awarded online betting and casino licences for its no-registration Ninja Casino and Spellandet.com sites, while Videoslots has had its casino licence application approved.

“We are delighted to be taking our unique casino offering to Swedish players and are grateful that the regulator has given us the opportunity,” Videoslots chief executive Alexander Stevendahl commented.

“Videoslots was among the very first operators to apply for a licence as we always saw the potential in a fully-regulated market,” he said. “I am very pleased that all the hard work put in by the team has now been rewarded.”

Global Gaming CEO Joacim Möller added that his company’s licence signalled Lotteriinspektionen’s approval of its business model, noting that it also allowed the operator to continue serving its largest market.

The pair join 12 other operators that secured licences last week, the first iGaming approvals to be issued ahead of the new regulations coming into force from January 1, 2019.

This saw former monopoly operators Svenska Spel - via its Svenska Spel Sport & Casino AB subsidiary - and AB Trav och Galopp licensed for online betting and gaming.

Other licensees include bet365, GVC Holdings, as well as local operators Kindred Group, Betsson and LeoVegas.
