GIG secures UK licence for games studio

Gaming Innovation Group (GIG) has been awarded a licence to supply titles from its in-house games studio to licensed UK operators by the country’s Gambling Commission.
The new licence for the GIG Games subsidiary complements its existing software supplier and B2C licences in the UK, and will allow it to launch content from the studio for existing white label customers, as well as for external brands active in the country.
“We are thrilled to announce this news so early in our journey with GiG Games,” GIG Games managing director Mathias Larsson said.
“Normally, a game provider enters one market at a time, however, with our strength from being a division within GiG’s ecosystem, we are able to enter multiple regulated markets at the same time,” he explained. “Regulated markets are the future of our industry and it is part of our core strategy to be present in every regulated market.”
GIG also revealed that it was working on having GIG Games certified to offer content in a range of European jurisdictions, including the Danish, Italian and Spanish markets, as well as in territories further afield such as New Jersey and Colombia.
