The crypto sportsbook will increase its bet limits to 100BTC

Cloudbet expects to ramp up its bitcoin-based betting volume for next Sunday’s World Cup final through an extended limit of 100BTC.

Having guaranteed World Cup betting limits of 20BTC for the group stage and knockout games, and committed to providing odds with just a 2.5% margin, the crypto sportsbook saw the number of bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash bets soar over the first 10 days of the tournament.

When compared with the 10-day period that concluded the day before Russia’s opening match against Saudi Arabia on 14 June, the figures equated to an increase of 600%.

During the 15-25 June period, the platform attracted tournament-related wagers from over 100 countries, while games involving established sides such as Germany, Brazil and Argentina attracted multiple bets at the maximum 20BTC mark.

However, Cloudbet will still deliver on its pre-tournament promise to extend the betting limits from 20BTC (140BCH) to 100BTC (700BCH) ahead of the final in Moscow.

Mirio Mella, Cloudbet’s Head of Acquisition, told “With 100BTC limits available at Cloudbet for the final, and seemingly no end in the drama at such an unpredictable World Cup, we are putting the icing on the cake for these unprecedented volumes that we've seen.”

Totally Gaming says: Cloudbet is one of the few crypto operators to offer World Cup betting for a second straight tournament. However, the coin’s price difference when compared with Brazil 2014 shows that bitcoin betting has come to the World Cup party in 2018. The extended 100BTC limit applied by Cloudbet for next week’s final equates to almost €600,000 at today’s exchange rate.
