Brian Mattingley has become executive chairman

Online gambling operator 888 ratified several key people moves this (Wednesday) afternoon at its Annual General Meeting.

Brian Mattingley, as previously announced back in August, has stepped down from his role as CEO to replace Richard Kilsby as executive chairman of the company.

Kilsby, who has been in the position for the past nine years, was hailed by Mattingley at today’s AGM.

“Richard has shown outstanding leadership during his nine-year tenure as chairman, which has seen 888 grow and develop significantly,” Mattingley said.

“I would like to extend my personal thanks for Richard's unwavering dedication and counsel during my time as chief executive of 888.”

Following Mattingley’s resignation as chief executive, chief operating officer Itai Frieberger has been appointed as an executive director of 888.

In other news, John Anderson has stepped down from the 888 board with immediate effect.

He has served as an independent non-executive director since December 2006 after having held the role of chief executive.

“We are confident that we have an industry-leading team to continue the company's growth for years to come,” Mattingley said.
