The first version of the company’s BETR platform is scheduled for mid-May

Blockchain-based BetterBetting has chosen “one of the most advanced countries in the world from a technology perspective” to base its development office.

BetterBetting has now filled nearly all the new roles in Estonia, as the company prepares to release the first version of the BETR decentralized peer-to-peer sports betting system to its first reference clients by mid-May 2018.

The “beefed up” BetterBetting team includes data specialists, UX and designers, client-side coders, QA and the all-important blockchain developers.

Ian Sherrington, BetterBetting CTO, told TotallyGaming.com: "Estonia is one of the most advanced countries in the world from a technology perspective. Their ecitizenship scheme makes it possible to remotely sign documents and they are aware of and friendly towards cryptocurrency.

“Add to this a large base of skilled crypto, gaming and peer-to-peer developers and it provides a fantastic environment to develop the software that we are working on.

“We will continue to add to the development team, but the core team is already in place. Going forward we will be putting more and more effort into application development for mobile so no doubt roles will become available in that space for UX, React and NodeJS developers.”

Football coverage will be limited to the World Cup in the first release but will stretch to major leagues in time for the 2018/19 season, including the English Premier League, Spanish Primera Liga, Italian Serie A, French Ligue 1, Germany Bundesliga and the UEFA Champions League.

Sherrington added: “We aim to release the first version by the end of May at the latest. We will cover initially just football with the World Cup as our focus. We expect to provide a deep level of market coverage, both pre-game, outrights and in-play.

This “deep level of market coverage” extends to at least 50 markets including match-winner, total goals, cards and corners, and Asian handicap markets.

Totally Gaming says: Boosted by strong support in Asia, the new sports betting system will enable punters to take advantage of the BetterBetting Liquidity Pool. All bets will be placed and settled using the BETR token, which was released in an initial token offering at the end of January 2018.
