Company to harness Sportradar's data expertise to enhance UX

Sportradar has teamed up with Italian content operator ASAP Italia in order to invest in the development of Daily Fantasy Sports in Europe and provide players with the best data with which to make decisions.

ASAP Italia has launched, the Daily fantasy Sports platform that operates with a gambling licence from the UK, and will soon be rolled out in other regulated markets such as Italy.

This joint venture will focus on the new Sportito DFS project and strengthens the synergy between ASAP Italia and Sportradar. The two already work on the supply of data and statistics to ASAP’s platform, the affiliate website for odds comparisons and predictions in Italy.

ASAP Italia CEO Riccardo Mittiga told "What sets Sportito apart is that we aim to protect new customers from experienced players, we pay great attention to customer service, will offer more social networking features, and feature more sports than any other provider in Europe.

"We believe scale and our removal of many the restrictions that dog fantasy games are the key to a successful product. There are thousands of leagues available on Sportito, and there is no salary cap restriction nor season long commitment. Users are free to choose what, when and how they want to play. Sportito also offers the opportunity for users to withdraw their winnings immediately after the contest is finished, without having to wait the whole season to finish."

The firms believe that Daily Fantasy Sports, which already counts more than 57 million players worldwide, has a bright future in Europe. Experience, predictive skills and analysis take centre stage as online players challenge their insights against each other.

ASAP said that the implementation and enhancement of Sportradar products within the group will enable the development of important new business and projects, such as, the international marketplace for betting enthusiasts, and Supernews, the portal dedicated to citizen journalism.

Totally Gaming says: One of the big challenges of DFS is to stop the ‘sharks’ eating up all the new players – indeed it’s a problem that plagued the online poker industry for many years and there has already been controversy in the US over the issue. If Sportito has solved that, then it will be very good for the eco-system of the game.
