Andreas Ternström on joining Scout & DFS' future

In the second piece of news from DFS operator and supplier Scout Gaming Group in as many weeks, the company has announced the executive appointments of Rolf Blom as Chairman of the Board and Andreas Ternström as CEO.

It was also revealed that Rolf Blom and Andreas Ternström were amongst the investors in the company in a major venture funding round. Scout recently signed a deal with state owned Finnish operator Paf and it seems 2017 will beckon a substantial period a business development.

Totally Gaming spoke to Andreas Ternström to find out more about the pair joining. He said: “Mr Blom’s journey in Netent saw him run a tight ship and oversee the execution of the strategy to secure future growth. My own background is in online media and B2B sales, whilst I’ve been in the iGaming industry for 10 years.

“As a former executive of the gaming arm of a Nordic media company, I’d taken a good look at DFS before joining Scout since I believed that it fits very well within sports media. Coupled with the deep knowledge of DFS that the founders, Björn Fjellby & Andreas Sundal, employ, not to mention the fact that they’re both engineers and old sport betting and poker players, altogether I’ve no doubt that we will make a great team.”

On his personal decision to join Ternström commented: “When I first met the founders of Scout and saw what they had accomplished with their tech, and later with the product they delivered to Norsk Tipping during the UEFA Euro Championship 2016, I realised that I had found a new home.”

The new CEO also commented on what these two additions means for Scout as a whole, and how it’ll ensure that business development can become a central focus alongside fine-tuning the product.

He stated: “The appointment will strengthen Scout on business development. It’ll partly release the old management from business development and sales, and gives Scout a possibility to speed up product development to a greater degree. This is important to keep our competitors at a distance.”

Totally Gaming says: These are two impressive additions to the Scout team, and as mentioned it’ll ensure that the product team can focus on developing that side of things whilst Blom and Ternström can operate the business side. With their connections and experience, doubtless we’ll see more DFS partnerships from Scout this year.
