Zynga CEO Mark Pincus refuted claims that the social network company is trying to cash in on serious gamblers, rather he said that it wants to introduce real-money gaming to a mass market in the same way it introduced social gaming to the general public.

"We're not the company to win the hardcore real-money gamers," he said. "But we think we are for the mass market audience."

Pincus added that he has been working to restructure Zynga by reducing expenses and redirecting resources to the company's more profitable endeavors, and noted that these moves were reflected last week when stock picked up after Nevada became the first state to allow online gambling last week.
