Harry Lang said Pinnacle's in-house team are already working on improvements to the new app

Pinnacle Sports believes that the unique features of its first native app can help it gain an advantage over established rivals.

The sports betting operator’s new Pinnacle Lite mobile platform, which will initially offer six sports markets, has been developed in-house by Pinnacle Sports’ newly-created Product R&D team.

Pinnacle Lite allows customers to “quickly and seamlessly find the best bet at the best price on their favourite sports market,” while also offering them the ability to see recent odds changes visualised in a chart and set alerts for certain prices.

Harry Lang, Pinnacle’s marketing director, told that the company was keen to only launch its first native app when it could offer a product that met its customers’ needs and was truly different to existing products on the market.

“Pinnacle Sports has had a mobile offering for some time but we have resisted developing a ‘standard’ feature app and instead used customer insight to really understand what our customers want,” Lang said.

“There is still a tremendous amount of untapped potential with mobile, and Pinnacle intends to exploit this by leveraging our existing competitive advantages. One concrete example of this is the notion of odds history charts and alerts in the Pinnacle Lite app putting our customers in control of the price they bet at.

“Not only are we happy to give our customers tools to help them win more, but we are actively helping them by offering functionality that is unavailable from our competitors.”

The app is currently only available through iOS, but an Android version will launch soon, and Lang said that Pinnacle’s in-house team is already working on improvements.

“We’ve always put our money where our mouth is with our ‘Winners’ Welcome’ policy and now that we’ve established our first native app presence, we intend to innovate even further in this area under the stewardship of our Product R&D team," Lang said.

“We have initially launched in a selection of key markets to allow us to test and learn before rolling out further innovations to our full market base later. We are also building several enhancements that are already under development for the app.

"Ultimately, we are working on mobile innovations as a priority – all with the common theme that they will further distance Pinnacle from the competition by leveraging our great odds, high limits, and be delivered through an intuitive mobile UX.”
