Perfectly timed Danish expansion for LeoVegas

LeoVegas has now entered Denmark with its sportsbook

The news that LeoVegas have been granted a Danish licence for sports betting means Danish gamblers should expect an imminent evolution in the way they’re able to bet on sports.

The Swedish based company’s expansion into the Danish sports betting market will result in it offering customers 100,000 betting games in more than 40 different sports.

It’s unsurprising given the Danes’ love of sport, that Group CEO Gustaf Hagman has expressed a great deal of elation at the plans: "The launch of LeoVegas’ casino has been very successful and LeoVegas has established itself as a brand in Denmark. We see a clear growth potential for Sports and strengthening, with today's launch, our offer in the Danish market. Our goal is to offer Denmark's fastest and most engaging sports gaming experience."

Furthermore, with the Danish Superligaen kicking off this weekend the launch has been well timed.

When LeoVegas hits the market it will  will use an infrastructure provided by Kambi, whose chief commercial officer, Ian Freeman was also keen to express excitement about the newly available opportunities to Danish punters. He told “Kambi and LeoVegas have worked closely to ensure the product could launch as soon as LeoVegas received its licence and the end result perfectly illustrates the potential operators have to innovate and differentiate using the Kambi technology in regulated markets.”

Expansion  into the sports betting market isn't the sole way in which  LeoVegas plans to improve the betting experience for Danish customers. Hagman also signalled its intentions to make developments in its Live Casino. “In parallel with the launch of Sport, we have invested in our Live Casino where we now offer the market's best live experience with the widest product range and exclusive tables for LeoVegas customers. With these launches, we strengthen LeoVegas’ offer in the Danish market.”

Totally Gaming says: The company believes that an acquisition of a sports betting licence in Denmark affirms LeoVegas position as one of the leading players in the online gambling industry. Given the LeoVegas sportsbook only launched last year, the firm is now taking bets  in Malta, in Great Britain, Italy and Ireland, showing a growth strategy that takes advantage of its existing gaming footprint.
