Gaming technology supplier Gamblit Gaming has brought in former Electronic Arts (EA) director Darion Lowenstein as it embarks on a new marketing strategy.

Lownstein comes in as the California-based company's new chief marketing officer, with predecessor David Chang moving to head of industry relations.

Lowenstein, who has been in the gaming industry for almost 20 years and produced games such as Tiger Woods Golf at EA, says he is thrilled about the opportunity of working at a company that is aiming to bridge the gap between entertainment and real-money gaming.

“I'm excited to join Gamblit Gaming at a time when mobile and casino games are on the verge of a revolution," he said.

“I haven't seen an opportunity like this to innovate in a space since mobile games started taking off, and I truly believe Gamblit is leading the charge.”

Gamblit, which was founded in 2010, aims to offer a platform that makes it easy for game developers to create games that can be easily adapted for real-money gambling in jurisdictions where they are legal.

Gamblit says that it “provides all essential regulated technology, customer operations, and licenses; freeing up game developers, publishers, and casino operators to focus on making the best possible game experience for their players”.

As chief marketing officer, Lowenstein will oversee the strategy, partnerships, marketing, product management and monetisation of casual games with real-money wagering for casinos and mobile devices.

Chief executive Eric Meyerhofer explained that Lowenstein and Chang will lead Gamblit’s two distinct marketing initiatives – ‘revenue generation’ and ‘industry outreach’.

Meyerhofer said: “This dual effort will put Gamblit Gaming in a powerful leadership position to best capture the marketplace opportunity before us.

“David has been instrumental in setting the stage for our upcoming launch. Darion's long history of hit games will help realise our vision. I'm thrilled to welcome Darion to our team – giving David the opportunity to focus his energy on industry relations.”
Chang will continue to focus on generating exposure and heightening awareness of the company's products to the gaming and gambling sectors.

Chang added: “My move from CMO to industry relations aligns with Gamblit's trajectory, progressing from formation and initial planning stages to an operational entity. I'm eager to work closely with Darion as he sets and executes marketing strategy for the company.”
