Partnership with start-up completes circle for Tipico

European gaming operator Tipico is hoping to win big through an innovative new ‘wheel of fortune’ sports betting app developed with Couchsport.

The new Stake It app, already a big hit in the iOS App Store in Germany, offers punters the chance use a series of easy-to-use on-screen wheels to select a stake, winning amount and the number of games on which to bet.

After last year’s release, Tippn, the app is the second to be released jointly by the two companies, and Dominic Sauer, Tipico’s head of corporate communication, told TotallyGaming.com that both entities benefit from their ad hoc partnership.

“The collaboration with a start-up like Couchsport gives Tipico the opportunity to develop new products out of the usual design and development cycle,” said Sauer. “Couchsport converts our deep experience and knowledge of the market and its trending topics into new, innovative entertainment solutions.”

Sauer added that the functionality of the new app will be particularly appealing to spontaneous punters.

“In comparison to Tippn, the app is considerably easier to handle,” he said. “With Stake It, spontaneous users can bet for their favourite team within a few seconds only. How much do I want to risk, what amount do I want to win, and on how many games do I want to bet?

“Once these questions have been clarified, the user is ready to go. Thanks to integrated circle diagrams, the stakes are now even more clearly arranged.”

With this summer’s football Uefa European Championships now just four months away, Sauer added that Tipico has ambitious plans for the rest of 2016.

“In view of Euro 2016, Tipico has already launched its major sportsbook app in an innovative ‘Next Gen’ design,” he added.

“Another huge step will be the implementation of Tipico Pay, a prepaid app, in the core market Germany, with the app having already been launched in Austria in December 2015.

“Furthermore Tipico’s goal is to improve and expand the core offerings with benefits for the customers via online, mobile and retail.”
