The operator scored the best in Degree 53 report's on UK casino lobbies

Betfair has come out on top in a new report assessing the mobile user experience (UX) of ten of the leading online casino operators in the UK.

Degree 53, a digital agency who specialise in UX, mobile app and website development and design, reviewed brands such as Ladbrokes, Paddy Power and Unibet, giving each a mark out of 100 for both the native app and mobile web versions of their casinos.

With a score of 83 (native app) and 82 (mobile web), Betfair secured the best marks. Andrew Daniels, managing director at Degree 53, spoke to about the reasons behind this: "Betfair received quite high scores across all sections, particularly for having a variety of features that support users of different levels.

"For example, players can easily find different games, help, registration and FAQs. Betfair’s casino app is consistent with its mobile website, using the same UI and features. If a desktop user wanted to start playing on mobile, there wouldn’t be as many differences in the UX.

"The app provides useful content to players, such as game and jackpot information, as well as help and contact details should they need any advice. There is also onboarding upon install which is a nice feature and provides support to new players from the start.

"Despite this, Betfair’s app isn’t perfect - it lacks the search functionality and some of the elements are too small. There’s still room for improvement, however, we felt that it worked well overall.”

Totally Gaming says: Betfair has done well to be awarded such favourable grades, and it speaks volumes for their mobile UX. With mobile gaming now taking up 40% of the online gambling market in UK, the necessity to provide a great UX has never been more important. Through this report, Degree 53 offer hints and tips on how to best optimise mobile UX, which could be integral for customer retention.
