CEO David Chang said that there has been encouraging demand for the platform

Betcade has begun to accept applications to feature on what will be the gambling industry’s first Android app store when it launches in July 2016.

The Silicon Valley company, which was founded earlier this year by former Gamblit executive David Chang, said that its early access programme would offer partners an advantage in gaining access to the store and supporting documentation, direct support from the Betcade team, the opportunity to give direct feedback on the store’s features and priority for integration support.

Betcade will host sports, casino and bingo apps developed by licensed gambling operators, and chief executive Chang said that the store, which has been created to provide casino operators with a “unified, branded destination for gaming app distribution”, is now ready to launch.

“We’ve spent the past few months road testing the concept and checking the temperature of the industry, and been really pleased with the results,” Chang said.  “The creation of the early access programme is a direct result from the demand we are experiencing from the industry.

“We want to create the best possible product for the gaming industry and are fortunate that online operators want to work with us to make the store a success.”

Earlier this year, Chang told that Betcade’s goal is to create a platform that rivals the standards of Apple’s iTunes and Google Play.
