Online gambling group ALEA have strengthened their presence in the United Kingdom, after acquiring from International Game Technology (IGT).

Alexandre Tomic, ALEA co-founder, told “ALEA’s acquisition of the LadyLucks brand is a statement of intent, and forms part of our battle plans for the UK market.

“The deal comes just weeks after we were awarded our licence by the UK Gambling Commission, and now we want to significantly ramp up our share of the market.

“We have already made major changes to benefit LadyLucks players; we have quadrupled the number of game suppliers, rolled out games on desktop as well as mobile, and given players access to free spins.

“We believe LadyLucks can be a power player in the UK market, and with the help of new Casino Manager, Sarah Quinan, can take on the big boys.”

Major changes have already been implemented with having migrated to the ALEA platform, and the number of games providers soaring from two to seven.

Britain’s first mobile-only casino, launched in 2004, now also boasts over 80 titles from companies such as Microgaming, NetEnt and IGT, across mobile and desktop, with the LadyLucks portfolio being bolstered further in the coming months.

Totally Gaming says:  With news of this acquisition coming so soon after a UKGC licence was granted, ALEA have made their intentions abundantly clear.  It will be interesting to see how continues to grow, and what the next step in this ALEA drive will be.
