Dario Zutel and Eric Benchimol happy with firm's latest deal

Eric Benchimol, CEO of Win Systems, has said that his firm’s acquisition of gaming machine developer Gold Club will give the firm ‘significant and immediate access to new markets’.

Just before Christmas the gaming and lottery technology supplier revealed that it snapped up the Gold Club business in a deal worth in an undisclosed amount. The deal was backed by London-based private capital firm Metric Capital Partners.

Gold Club is a Slovenian-headquartered global developer and provider of gaming machines and electronic roulettes, which has a market presence in over 50 countries worldwide, and Benchimol has hailed the new deal that has brought the firm under the Win Systems umbrella.

“We have grown exponentially in the past 18 months and we are looking forward to harnessing the power of the newly-integrated businesses as a springboard to further growth. This landmark deal will allow us to offer more products and services to our existing customers as we become a fully-integrated omni-channel provider of systems solutions to the global industry. It is a tremendously exciting time for us and we cannot wait to get started.”

Benchimol believes that the combination of the two companies will create an emerging leader in the global gaming industry, capable of offering both lottery and casino clients innovative end-to-end solutions including Casino Management systems, VLTs, electronic gaming machines and electronic table games. Following the acquisition the group will have a significant footprint in Europe, South Africa and the Americas.

The acquisition comes after a period of substantial organic growth for Win Systems, with the company’s innovative casino management system WIGOS now installed in over 260 casinos in 17 countries worldwide, providing connectivity to over 60,000 machines.

Following the acquisition, Win Systems will more than double its current headcount to over 300 staff across a number of offices worldwide, with key Gold Club personnel remaining in place to continue servicing customers under the Gold Club brand in selected regulated markets.

Dario Zutel, executive chairman of Win Systems, noted the source of the funding for the deal: “I am incredibly excited to be partnering with Metric for the next growth phase of the company. We are delighted to have finalised the acquisition of Gold Club, a deal that will significantly expand our global footprint and allow us to make significant inroads in new markets.

“Win Systems has grown organically at an impressive rate over the past few years due to our industry leading products and services. Gold Club is a company with a fantastic reputation that shares our ideals and vision and I am highly confident of our ability to continue growing the group while delivering high quality solutions to our customers.”

Totally Gaming says: This acquisition, with private capital backing, will be a huge boost to the ambitions of Win Systems and ensures that the expanded company has a lot to talk about in 2017. A wider footprint of markets, combined with an extended product portfolio that comes with cross-selling benefits could see a very successful piece of M&A.
