IGT followed up a new lottery deal by partnering with Novomatic

Progress has continued at International Game Technology PLC (IGT), after the group announced today that it had followed up a new deal with the South Carolina Education Lottery (SCEL) by signing a patent cross-license agreement with the Novomatic Group.

As part of the deal, which goes live on the 13th of May 2018, IGT is expanding its lottery offering with the addition of a new draw-based central system, new lottery terminals, a back-up, multifaceted communications network, and ongoing services.

Angela Wiczek, Vice President of Corporate Communications at IGT, told “IGT is honored to support the South Carolina Education Lottery (SCEL) with its long-term objectives. The SCEL is a new customer for IGT and we look forward to a successful relationship.”

IGT will continue to focus on innovation in its lottery offering after its subsidiary, IGT Global Solutions Corporation, was awarded a 10 year contract with the SCEL, under the terms of which IGT will provide the SCEL with high quality tools including components of IGT's Aurora platform.

Aurora Open Retail, a new retail solution software architecture, will enable the SCEL to support multiple types of retailer solution devices in an efficient manner, improving time to market. Additionally, the SCEL will receive Aurora Navigator user interface and a new set of back-office components for lottery personnel who will have the ability to customize the look and feel of the interface to meet their exact needs, helping them to manage their business and enhance productivity.

The SCEL will also receive IGT's Altur Flex draw-based lottery terminal, which features a highly-configurable platform derived from the successful Altura GT1200 product, and a smaller footprint. A new reader for play slips is designed to reduce maintenance cycles and improve throughput. A high-resolution wide-screen retailer display will enhance the ease of use and productivity of retailers.

Totally Gaming says: Both new deals for IGT serve as an affirmation of the high quality product the group is supplying. Additionally, with IGT currently boasting the largest slot game feature patent portfolio in North America, adding its now enhanced lottery offering to that already expansive portfolio will set IGT up for a prosperous 2018.
