Two tier one operators set to be the first to benefit

IWG has announced the launch of its “ground breaking” new product, Rollover Jackpots.

Offering huge prizes, starting from £10m and building up to £25m, the insured jackpot mechanic can be applied to any IWG game, with the first Rollover Jackpots game set to be launched by operators in Europe in Q1 of 2018.

Rhydian Fisher, CEO of IWG, told TotallyGaming.com: “Rollover Jackpots is the first product in the instant win space to offer huge jackpots, so we think it’s a pretty big deal. Players love jackpots; they are a great way to acquire customers as well as retain existing ones.

“The fact we’ve got two European tier one operators set to take Rollover Jackpots in the next couple of months shows how appealing it is to the industry in general.

“Because Rollover Jackpots uses an insured model, IWG can offer these vast prizes at launch without having to wait for liquidity or creating risk.

“Effectively we’re creating a whole new sector with Rollover Jackpots. Previously players could only get the buzz of playing for a huge win on a lottery rollover or a networked progressive jackpot on a slot game.”

IWG details that its new solution can create larger prize pools for operators, as opposed to “the more common networked jackpots found in online slots.”

Detailing the necessity to develop new offerings such as this, Fisher added: “It is vital to develop new products and innovations, but there is no point in doing it for the sake of it.

“It isn’t necessarily reinventing the wheel, but often seeing what has worked in other sectors or verticals and applying that to a new one.

“The insured model used by secondary lotteries has been very successful over the past few years and there is no reason why it won’t be equally as successful in the instant win space.”

Totally Gaming says: IWG has followed up 2017, a year in which the firm signed a number of deals with key operators, by announcing this “industry first” to start 2018 with a bang. The supplier of online instant win games also details that two tier one operators are set to be the first to launch the new offering, with its flexibility aimed to provide mass market appeal.
