International gaming and lottery provider Intralot has secured World Lottery Association (WLA) Security Control Standard certificates in Germany, Malta and Greece.

Intralot Germany, Maltco Lotteries and Hellenic Lotteries secured WLA SCS:2012 and ISO/IEC 27001:2013 certificates to complement existing WLA and ISO approvals for the Intralot headquarters in Athens, Greece.

“We are very satisfied to have our operations certified by the two leading organisations,” said Nikos Nikolakopoulos, Intralot’s group president for Latin America, Western Europe and Africa.

WLA executive director Jean Jorgensen added: “The WLA congratulates Intralot and its lottery partners with their continued strong commitment and effort to align their security and risk management procedures along the WLA Security Control Standard.

“Intralot’s dedication to integrity and the provision of quality products and services is critical to our business success and our strategy of sustainable leadership.”

In other news, Intralot has become an official sponsor of swimming champion Apostolos Christou, who hails from the company’s home market of Greece.

Earlier this year, Christou won the gold medal in the 100m backstroke at the European Junior Swimming Championships in the Netherlands, and there are high hopes that he could be a star performer at the 2016 summer Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Intralot will support the 18-year-old’s preparations for Rio through its ‘Adopt an Athlete on the Road to Rio’ programme.
