The deal comes after a positive start to the year for the supplier

Lottery systems provider Intralot SPA has revealed that its Turkish subsidiary INTELTEK will continue to act as lead ‘operations and technical support partner’ for Iddaa betting outlets.

The firm confirmed to investors that the Turkish state-owned gambling enterprise SporToto has agreed to extend its Iddaa technology agreement with INTELTEK for a further year, commencing 29 August 2019.

Both parties have agreed that the terms of service shall continue as stipulated under the requirements set in its previous 10-year contract.

Intralot’s INTELTEK division, a joint-venture partnership with leading Turkish telecoms operator Turkcell has serviced SporToto since 2003 and was further introduced the Iddaa betting in 2004.

extending its international expansion strategy, last May Intralot confirmed the appointment of former Microsoft executive  Michael Kogeler as Group Chief Operating Officer (COO) charged with driving “business orchestration of its operations around the world.”

The extension comes of the back off the lottery systems supplier recording positive revenue growth in its Q1 2018 trading.

At the time, the firm’s CEO emphasised Intralot’s positive outlook, stating: “The 2018 Q1 results show stronger sales and continuing growth in developed markets, reflecting increasingly successful market development efforts along with an upgrade of our offering with next-generation products and services for Lotteries digital transformation.

“Emphasis remains on growth in markets such as the United States where the recent lift of the federal ban on sports betting creates tremendous business opportunities from the rise of a potential USD 20bn market in annual GGR terms, on top of great prospects in new flagship projects such as the Illinois State Lottery.”

Totally Gaming says: The INTELEK brand continues to be a strong player in the Turkish lottery ecosystem, therefore the extension of this deal is not in the least bit surprising. Looking forward it will be interesting to see how Intralot capitalises on the overturning of PASPA and expands into new markets.
