The group acquired Giochi24

Lottoland has revealed it will place a key focus on innovation in the Italian market, after acquiring a majority stake in one of the most popular lotto and online games sites in Italy, Giochi24.

The group also emphasised that when it comes to marketing in the Italian sector, “responsible marketing is key in any market to attract customers”.

Giochi24 has been operational since 2008 and was one of the first companies to get approval by the Italian regulator – Dogane e dei Monopoli. This partnership will combine both companies expertise in the online sector.

Lottoland has also launched its own site www.lottoland.it, enabling players based within Italy to buy a ticket and play lotteries; including SuperEnalotto, 10e Lotto, scratchcards, instant win games, bingo and casino games.

Lottoland’s CEO Nigel Birrell told TotallyGaming.com: “Lottoland will focus on doing what it does best and will bring innovation and choice to the Italian market. www.lottoland.it will enable players based in Italy to buy a ticket and play lotteries; including SuperEnalotto, 10e Lotto, scratchcards, instant win games, bingo and casino games.”

Paolo Di Feo, CEO of Giochi24, added: “We are very excited to have partnered with Lottoland and the opportunities that will bring to both businesses. We are also thrilled to be able to provide Italian players with two sites, Giochi24.it and Lottoland.it.

“We are now in a great position to fulfil our mission – to have the most complete offering of games of luck and lotteries that are approved by the regulator and available to players in a simple and easy format.”

Totally Gaming says: Given the turbulence of the Australian lottery sector, it's unsurprising that Lottoland is clearly aiming to expand its already strong European presence, having also recently signed key sponsorship deals in the UK market.
