EuroJackpot to be rolled out in Poland

EuroJackpot, the transnational European lottery featuring a €10 million guaranteed prize pool and maximum rollover jackpot of €90 million, will arrive in Poland this September.

The announcement came during the 9th European Lotteries Congress, which took place in Kraków last month.

Totalizator Sportowy, Poland’s state-owned betting firm and operator of the established Lotto brand, will be responsible for establishing EuroJackpot in the country.

While the group said full details of the game will be provided over the coming months, Totalizator Sportowy spokesman Damian Wiśniewski told “For now, I can say that, according to the new Gambling Act – which was approved in Poland on April 1, 2017 – the ticket price will include a 25% surcharge for Polish sport, culture, health and society.”

EuroJackpot was launched in 2012, and currently serves 17 countries across the continent.

The goal is to match five correct numbers out of 50 plus another two supplementary numbers out of another 10.

In contrast to EuroMillions, which was designed to pay out big jackpots with an extremely small chance of winning, EuroJackpot gives out smaller prizes with a higher frequency.

Totally Gaming says: Polish lottery fans will be looking forward to the country’s first EuroJackpot draw this September. Participation among European countries is growing, and while the rollover jackpot might not be as high as EuroMillions, EuroJackpot has created dozens of millionaires and awarded many thousands of smaller prizes to players from Valencia to Vilnius.
