Lottery gamification site offers promotional opportunities

As part of our preview of the Launchpad at EiG (18-20 October), TotallyGaming.com speaks to Martin Cagalinec, the founder of 1Spin Millionaire, who talks about how he wants to offers lottery-style jackpots on every game.

‘Jackpotify’ way well be an ugly word – though it is probably no worse than gamification – but it is the term that describes the simple idea behind 1Spin Millionaire.

The company allows consumers of any game on an operator's site – whether it is slots, roulette, sports-betting or poker – to obtain 1SM tickets for free whenever they place a bet. They are then entered into a prize lottery-style draw, with the added kicker that the more a punter plays, the more tickets they will earn.

Martin Cagalinec, the founder of the company which is based in Slovakia, says the concept can be applied to other sectors as well as gaming – indeed, the first companies to sign up to the 1SM product have been online food delivery services and taxi companies. As Cagalinec says: “Who does not want to win €1m with a ride in a taxi or by just by buying flowers?”

Cagalinec’s background is in both gaming and software design. He previously launched a web design company based in Slovakia called Sven Creative and was also previously the co-founder and chief creative officer at a software company called Danubesoft. He says that he and his three partners have years of experience working within the sports-betting and online gambling space working for various international and Austria-based firms on mobile betting and self-service betting terminal (SSBT) products.

In hitting upon their idea, the 1SM partners believe they have a product that can provide the additional engagement – indeed, the gamification – that operators desire. “It provides the big win but also the smaller wins which will keep customers coming back for more,” he says.

EiG marks the company’s debut, presenting to the industry experts who will judge the winner at the event. Cagalinec is pleased with the response to his firm’s inclusion in the Launchpad short-list and is confident that the show will be of benefit. “We would like to give investors the opportunity to be the part of this new product and find much more customers who will integrate the 1SM,” he says.

Totally Gaming says: 1Spin Millionaire is an interesting concept and touches on more of the most talked-about themes in online gambling today, that of gamification. It is up against stiff competition this year, but the judges are likely to be impressed with how the 1SM idea has applications far beyond the gambling sphere.
