25 - MansionBet has been announced as the title sponsors of the World Pool Masters, as the tournament celebrates a quarter of a century.

Returning to Gibraltar after a successful tournament last year, the 25th annual event, set to be broadcast live on Sky Sports, takes place between March 2-4. Amongst the names set to feature are Francisco Bustamante, Earl Strickland and Ralf Souquet, who will be competing among a star-studded 16-man field for the $20,000 top prize.

950 - Scientific Games Corporation has announced that it is delivering Lotto Berlin’s (the “Lottery”) network of 950 retailers a new suite of lottery retail terminals, including tablet-based technology.

The German lottery awarded Scientific Games a new six-year contract for lottery retail technology last year. As part of the contract, Scientific Games is also providing Lotto Berlin and its retailers with field service, maintenance, retailer and lottery personnel training, and product rollout. The Company is a supplier to all 16 German state lotteries.

62% - Updating the market, Toronto TSX-listed The Stars Group Inchas confirmed that it has acquired a majority 62% holding in Australian online betting operator CrownBet Holdings, for an aggregated sum of $117 million (€95 million).

The Stars Group, acquires its controlling stake in CrownBet, from Australian casino and leisure operator Crown Resorts Limited, who had placed the online bookmaker up for sale last December, choosing to focus its business on its Australian casino properties.

£7 million - Industry charity GambleAware seeks a new creative marketing agency, to lead its £7 million TV advertising account. GambleAware is currently planning its next UK marketing campaign, focusing on raising public awareness of problem gambling, targeting ‘low-level players’ who may be at risk of becoming addicts.

The industry charity will run its creative marketing pitch through the Incorporated Society of British Advertisers (ISBA), which has sent out briefs to marketing agencies. The multi-channel marketing campaign will be paid for by UK licensed betting operators, and will receive further support by broadcasters who will commit free media slots to help promote GambleAware’s message.

$23.5 billion - The amount punters are projected to wager on esports by 2020, according to Eilers Research. The figure was discussed alongside official launch of the first Malta-built and Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) licensed esports betting platform - The new platform also unveiled a partnership with the Esports Integrity Coalition (ESIC).
