2023 - GamblingCompliance projects that the US sports betting market is to be worth between $3.1bn and $5.2bn in annual revenue by 2023, with an expectation of sports betting bills to come thick and fast when state legislatures reconvene for their 2019 sessions. The Northeast region is predicted to become the “epicentre” in the aftermath of sports betting expansions, with New York expected to become the US’ largest market by that specified year.

2.5 - Unibet enjoyed a significant clickshare increase at this year's Royal Ascot when compared with the corresponding festival in 2017, as the Kindred Group brand's clickshare went up 2.5 times year on year (YOY). Percentage wise, bet365 maintained its dominant position by taking a 23.7% share, some way ahead of its nearest competitor Sky Bet (15%).

31,000 - A study published by the Responsible Gambling Strategy Board (RGSB) found that 0.9% of UK children aged 11 to 15 are classified as problem gamblers, equating to around 31,000. However, a further 1.3% (or 45,000) are deemed ‘at risk’ of falling into the category.

£34,970 - The 16-month profit promoted by tipster site rixbets.com in a print advert first seen last August. This claim was found to be misleading by the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA), who ruled that Racing 4 Profit, trading as rixbets.com, must not display the ad again in its current form.

50 - Groupo Orenes has relocated to new headquarters in the Spanish city of Murica, as the company celebrates its 50th anniversary. The casino operator commenced operations in the new building on June 21, when 120 guests attended an opening ceremony. Javier López Cerrón CEO said: “Internally, what we are doing is moving from being a mere operator company to developing our own technology. We are the first Spanish company to develop our own technological platform.”
