41.6% - The rise in net gaming revenue for B2B gaming solutions and services provider, Nektan as it  announced a strong trading and business update for the three months ended 31 December 2017 (Q2 FY18). 5 - The Gambling Commission has outlined that it’s considering reviewing the licence of five online casino operators over money laundering and social responsibility controls.

Additionally, it has written to a further 12 online casino operators to raise concerns about the sector’s approach.In the letter the Commission set out how it expects operators to review all of their processes aimed at tackling money laundering and meeting their social responsibility obligations.

Sarah Harrison, Gambling Commission Chief Executive, said: “It is vital that the gambling industry takes its duty to protect consumers and keep crime out of gambling seriously. The Gambling Commission’s new strategy sets out our vision for a fairer and safer gambling market. The action we are taking to examine online casino operators’ compliance with money laundering and customer interaction requirements is just one example of how we will be relentless in turning that vision into reality.”

2 - The number of  complaints that were received by the ASA about a Coral TV advertisement. Coral expressed that it did not believe the ad was harmful or irresponsible in any way. Adding, that it did not believe the tone of the voice over, featured on the advert was pushy or aggressively promoting the gambling element, as it was “a very straight and matter of fact read.”

However, in its latest round of rulings, the ASA upheld its decision that Coral must cease using its advert that features stylistic clips of footballers performing against the background of a dramatic soundtrack. Deeming that the overall tone of the ad implied that gambling was more exciting than being a spectator and ordered Coral to stop distributing the advert.
