A breakdown of some of the more interesting figures to emerge from the gambling industry in the past seven days

£39 million – the total amount wagered on the 2016 US National Election as of Monday 19th September. A week of negative headlines for Hilary Clinton saw another £5 million traded on the Betfair market. Donald Trump hit his lowest exchange price of 2.86, with Hilary Clinton up to 1.62.

89% - the percentage of time on mobile spent in-app, according to a recent Nielsen report. This statistic was used by Shimon Akad, COO for Playtech, to support the announcement that Bet365 had become the first betting operator to integrate Playtech’s new native application.

€55-60 million – the amount that the Greek Syriza government expects to raise in taxes from online gambling as part of its new regime from October. The government are also confident that the market, which will be open to foreign operators, will fulfill European Union terms on fair market and competition laws.

40 – the number of days in 2017 where ITV will show Racing on its main channel. The UK broadcaster has gained exclusive coverage of the major festivals at Cheltenham and Royal Ascot, in addition to the Grand National at Aintree. The ‘main-channel’ racing content will be hosted by former ‘Super Sunday’ frontman Ed Chamberlin, who will be supported by Francesca Cumani and Matt Chapman.

27,000 – the capacity at Anderlecht’s Constant Vanden Stock Stadium, where Betway will hope to increase its brand coverage in the newly regulated Belgian online betting market. The European bookmaker has signed a three-year partnership deal with the Brussels-based club, one of the three most followed teams in the country alongside Club Brugge and Standard Liege.

50 – the number of races covered by 188BET’s new partnership deal with Jockey Club Racecourses. The sponsorship, which will run from this month until January 2017, includes the whole card for this Saturday’s Prelude Hurdle Day at Market Rasen, the Grade 2 Old Roan Chase at Aintree in October, and the Grade 2 Haldon Gold Cup at Exeter in November.

7 – the amount of goals scored by Barcelona against Celtic in the Champions League match which has come under the spotlight for betting activity. Rangers midfielder Joey Barton is alleged to have used a personal Betfair account to bet on Celtic to lose by at least three goals. The Gambling Commission are investigating the matter, and a report will be presented to compliance officer Tony McGlennan.

£350,000 – the total sale price for Stockholm-listed Cherry’s acquisition of Betman assets. The deal will see the company expand its Swedish gambling portfolio, and take over Betman’s ‘restaurant casino’ points in fifteen venues within the Swedish districts of Stockholm, Sälen and Visby.
