€421.6 million - The generated group revenue of playtech for H1 2017, up 25% on the €337 million posted in the first half of 2016. The group was aided by the strengthening of its commercial pipeline and strong KPI gains across its product portfolio. An optimistic Playtech governance said that its performance growth was a testament to a ‘proven model’ which had created an effective cash generating business. Closing a busy H1 2017 period Playtech governance would declare ‘reported ’group profits of €90 million (H1 2016: €49 million).

€6 million -  The amount Australian ASX-listed racing pools operator TopBetta Holdings has confirmed that it has raised to expand its international services. Following on from this, TopBetta governance has announced its intention to expand its B2B ‘Global Tote’ product for tier 1 US and European betting operators. This round of funding has seen TopBetta governance place an allotment of +21.4 million shares priced at 42 cents, with firm securing investment from ASX institutional investors.

£250,000 - The sum that Paddy Power paid out on Floyd Mayweather defeating Conor McGregor, three days before the most anticipated boxing event of modern times even took place. In betting terms, the event was the by far the biggest boxing event in history, with over 80% of bets on the fight being placed on the Irishman McGregor. Paddy’s gamble did eventually pay off though, when Mayweather comfortably dispatched of McGregor in 10 rounds.
