$150 million - The rough figure that DFS giant DraftKings is looking to acquire in order to accelerate its US sports betting proposition.

he news of DraftKings’ planned funding round, comes as the Boston-based enterprise, today confirms that it has officially filed its application for a New Jersey state sports betting license.

Furthermore, this June saw DraftKings announce its first betting-centric partnership with New Jersey-based Resorts Atlantic City Casino.

€11 million - The top prize payout for Maradona’s Millions, one of Bwin’s flagship World Cup promotions. GVC, who owns Bwin, has acquired the services of risk-management and insurance specialist RISQ, with the firm acting as lead insurer for the promotion.

Updating the market, GVC will move to enhance its betting promotions with RISQ B2B Jackpot solutions.

£10,000 - The figure Paddy Power has pledged to donate to LGBTQ+ charities for every goal scored by Russia at the 2018 World Cup. The Irish bookmaker even enlisted the services of Caitlyn Jenner to announce the news as a Twitter broadcast.

A press release read: “Basically, if you’re not supporting Russia at this tournament – you’re a loser. Who needs Gareth Southgate when you’ve got Gareth Thomas?

“Give the home nation’s suspiciously easy group, it seems implausible that they won’t bag a goal throughout the tournament… But, just in case, we’ll be donating a minimum of £50,000 anyway. Bravo, I say.”

93% - The percentage of votes received by a Gambling Bill in Sweden, paving the way for the revamp of the nation’s betting industry framework and the introduction of national legislation for online gambling services.

Having been approved by all Swedish parliamentary committees, the Gambling Bill was forwarded for a final review and vote on Thursday 7th June.

The Gambling Bill received a unanimous 93% (282 votes) support from Parliament, allowing for national gambling regulator Lotteriinspektionen to open its licensing window.

20BTC - The increased betting limits offered by Bitcoin sportsbook Cloudbet, in an attempt to appeal to bitcoin betting whales during Russia 2018.
