Thought leaders and influencers to plot out gaming's future at Juegos Miami

The future development of gaming in Latin America and the Caribbean will be the overarching theme at the 2017 edition of Juegos Miami (31 May – 2 June, The Biltmore, Miami). Bringing together the regions innovators, regulators and industry visionaries, the second edition of Juegos Miami will feature the elite of Pan-Latin American and Caribbean gaming.

Clarion Gaming’s Kate Chambers, who was instrumental in the creation of Juegos Miami, said: "There's a huge appetite for Juegos Miami amongst the C-Level industry opinion formers who will be in attendance as well as the senior management of the 40 commercial organisations which have a stand, showroom or sponsorship presence in Miami.” She continued: "I’m delighted to confirm that delegates from a total of 44 nations have registered this year, far more than we originally forecast. The international distribution of delegates underlines how important Juegos Miami is for stakeholders in the region as well as for those gaming brands wishing to enter the market and establish partnership arrangements.

"Attracting the key influencers to Juegos Miami was a key objective when we established the brand. I can confirm the 2017 edition will also feature many of the region's most influential trade associations and representative bodies, including: CIBELAE (Corporación Iberoamericana de Loterías y Apuestas del Estado); FECOLJUEGOS (Colombian federation of casinos and bingos); CONAJZAR (Commission nacional de juegos de azar); ABLE (Brazilian State lotteries Association); Magocom/BNL, and FECEAZAR (Federación Colombiana de Empresarios de Juegos de Azar). We appreciate how important a learning programme is to the industry and my team has worked extremely hard to develop a visionary agenda, covering the key political, economic, social and technological issues that are impacting gaming across Latin America and the Caribbean.”

Witoldo Hendrich Jr, Brazilian Co-Founder, Online IPS, which provides payment solutions to business owners struggling with the routine merchant services, confirmed the value of C-Level events. He said: "It is absolutely essential for gatherings like these to include industry leaders, market makers as well as policy makers. They represent an highly efficient way for each of these groups to learn the values and goals of the other and create opportunities for the development of ideas and plans that support the interests of all sides. Organizations representing industries like this must always work closely with regulators and policy makers to demonstrate the market's ability for serious self-policing and good governance. It’s also about understanding the implications of legislation. For example, a taxation policy which doesn’t allow the industry to be profitable is prohibition through the back door, which will inevitably attract illegal operators.”

He added: "We have to be candid, LatAm is an emerging market and to that extent it’s still in its infancy. I think we need to see what has worked in different markets and base the regulations accordingly. Our concern is that, if we (LatAm) try and reinvent the wheel, it will delay the development of a sustainable gaming economy. All of these reasons underline why Juegos Miami is so important. Get the experts together, debate, agree and legislate in a way that encourages a progressive, responsible and sustainable market."

Juegos Miami features a powerful, strategic and hands-on learning programme presented alongside a line-up of inspirational exhibitors and sponsors. Attendance is limited to senior decision makers from operating companies as well as government and regulators from the Latin American and Caribbean region. To apply for a place, register at
