Winning the EiG (Excellence in iGaming) 2013 Start-Up LaunchPad competition led to offers of investment in Element Wave as the company became “immersed” in the iGaming industry, according to co-founder and chief executive Dorothy Creaven.

Element Wave, Element Software’s push notification and analytics service for mobile devices, won the competition last year.

This year, at EiG 2014 in Berlin, Germany, Creaven will open the new Start-Up LaunchPad competition by telling the audience about the impact of last year’s success on Element Wave.

“It was a great win for us and we are still reaping the benefits now,” Creaven told TotallyGaming.com.

“It was a great introduction for us into gaming, and our technology seems to be a very good match for the industry.

“Our involvement in last year’s competition actually led to a number of investment offers, but our customer base has grown significantly so we have remained self-funded for now.

“We have immersed ourselves in the iGaming industry since our win and the uptake we have had has been very interesting.

“We are moving in a very international direction, focusing on player retention and monetisation. Keeping players engaged for a longer period of time and mobile CRM are big issues for mobile applications.”

The company has continued to expand its horizons since winning the 2013 competition.

“We are hiring more people and expanding our technology, engineering and marketing teams,” Creaven added.

On Friday, the five finalists for the Start-Up LaunchPad competition at EiG 2014 were unveiled by Clarion Events, the organiser of next month’s event.

Asylum Labs, Betify, Fresh8 Gaming, DiscountIF and RiftSino VR will pitch their ideas to expert judges in the competition, which has been likened to the ‘Dragon’s Den’ TV programme.
